From 7 to 13 of November the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre holds the IV International forum "Ballet XXIst Century". This year it will be devoted to the 125 anniversary since the birth of the outstanding Russian composer Sergey Prokofiev.
This large-scale project will pass with assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk territory, Administration of Krasnoyarsk, the International federation of ballet competitions, under patronage of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk territory.
The forum will be opened by S. Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliette" directed by the artistic director of the Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theatre, the honored artist of Russia Sergey Bobrov – one of the most popular performances in repertoire of the theatre, the nominee of the national theatre festival "Gold Mask”. Also within the forum the first act of the ballet "The Stone Flower" will be shown and the suite from the ballet "Cinderella".
The international competition of the ballet "Grand Prix of Siberia" will become the central event of the forum. The structure of jury which will be headed by the master of choreographic art the people's artist of the USSR Yury Grigorovich had included outstanding figures of the domestic and foreign ballet: ex-director of the ballet of the Parisian Opera Bridget Lefebvre (France); soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, rector of the Moscow state academy of choreography the people's artist of Russia Marina Leonova; artistic director of the Boston center of ballet education Mikko Nissinen (USA); the director, the teacher of Department of direction and skill of the actor of musical theatre at the Russian university of theatre (GITIS) Andreys Zhagars (Latvia) and the leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre the honored artisr of Russia Elena Andriyenko.
The program of the forum has included two considerable multicultural events – the teleconference between Russia and France "Under the sky of Paris" and the round table teleconference "The Russian-French relations: look through the prism of literature and music". The subjects "Sergey Prokofiev Is the Great Russian Composer and the World Classic", "Awareness of Cultural Identity as Way of Consolidation of Society", "Sergey Prokofiev's Ballet "Cinderella" — the Second Life of the Heroine of the Great French Storyteller Charles Perrault in Music", etc. will be submitted for discussion of participants of the round table.
Together with the constant partner of the forum, the State theatre museum of A. Bakhrushin, in theatre the exhibition will open devoted to history of creation of performances of Prokofiev.
Won't do also without cinema component. At the Cinema house it will be possible to see the documentary about Sergey Prokofiev of the director Andrey Konchalovsky (from the cycle "Geniuses"). In his basis – the diary entries of the composer published in Paris by his grandson. Within the "Sergey Prokofiev under the Sky of Paris" multimedia art project during the forum at the V. I. Surikov's Memorial estate animation movies will be presented devoted to the composer's life in France.
The IV International forum "Ballet XXIst Century" will come to the end with rewarding of participants of the Krasnoyarsk international competition "Grand Prix of Siberia" and big gala concert.
