A spring music concert opens the theatre’s month of May

A concert of a self-explanatory name The Music of Spring will be held in the Hvorostovsky Opera House on the 2nd of May.

“May begins - a month of ripe spring, of the real warmth, of the first green leaves and flowers - the very spring that is about to turn into summer. On the second day of May, our theatre invites spectators to The Music of Spring concert to listen to beautiful melodies and to be put in a jovial mood,” says concert director Daniil Dmitriev.

The following pieces to be performed for the theatre’s guests: arias and duets of the foreign and Soviet operettas (The Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, The Csárdás Princess by Emmerich Kálmán, Giuditta by Franz Lehár) and The Free Wind by Isaak Dunayevsky), popular Italian and Latin American songs. Vocal and orchestral fragments of the old films will be performed - Cossacks of the Kuban, They Met in Moscow, Tanya, In Search of the Castaways, as well as popular Soviet songs - Everything Has Got Blue and Green Around by Yuri Milyutin, In Honour, and Memoirs by Isaak Dunayevsky. And, of course, a bit of opera - a marvellous aria of Tonio of Gaetano Donizetti's opera La Fille du Régiment.

One of the best opera artists are going to perform that night at the Opera House - the theatre’s principal singers (including Honoured Artist of Russia Vera Baranova and Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mikhail Pirogov), choir and orchestra.

The concert will be closed off with Isaak Dunaevsky’s March of Enthusiasts performed by the theatre’s principal singer Daria Ryabinko and all the participants of the concert.
