An opera singer is among the winners of the contest of scientific research Majesty-2018

The opera soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Sevastian Martyniuk took the third place in the nomination Best Creative Project at the International absentia competition of scientific research Majesty-2018, held in Kazan.

He was awarded for the work “Italian legendary baritone Ettore Bastianini”, which Sevastian will soon present as a thesis project at the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts, where he studies now.

“My idol is Dmitri Hvorostovsky. In his interviews he often mentioned the name of Ettore Bastianini who was a gold standard of opera singing for him. Hvorostovsky tried to follow his manner of singing and stage performing. Such a high opinion of Dmitri Alexandrovich on the classical Italian singer prompted me to learn more about Bastianini's personality and creative activities”, says Martyniuk, - “Besides, Bastianini had not only a unique voice timbre, but also a unique professional life, having worked his way from bass singer to baritone one.

While preparing this work, we had to analyze foreign materials - they helped us recreate the facts of legendary baritone’s life, his personality and creative work, which can’t be found in the Russian-language literature. I am deeply grateful to my scientific adviser Maria Vladimirovna Kholodova for her support”.
