Four performances of the Hvorostovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre appear in the Theatrical Spring Festival programme

Four shows of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera House will be presented during the Theatre Spring-2019 Festival.

These are the Contemporary Choreography Night (staged by the Italian choreographer Francesca Frassinelli and Artistic Director of the theatre Sergei Bobrov), the Raymonda ballet by Alexander Glazunov (choreography by People’s Artist of the USSR Yuri Grigorovich), The Medium opera by Gian Carlo Menotti (directed by Daniil Dmitriev) and the children's musical Snow Queen by Mark Minkov (directed by Vyacheslav Tsiupa).

- There are a lot of talented young people who have considerable potential in our opera and ballet companies. We saw the brilliant acting in ballet performances. Ekaterina Bulgutova’s dancing is extremely impressive in Raymonda, as well as Yegor Osokin in the part of Abderakhman. Young Davit Yesayan is one of the best tenors of our opera company. The one-act opera The Medium made the strongest impression on me; it was pleasant to get acquainted with its young director Daniil Dmitriev. This is a complex world-class production; the director and artists had to work on the complex material,” - Olga Korablina, a member of the jury of the Theatrical Spring, the head of the Cabinet of Musical Theatres of the Union of Theater Professionals shared her impressions of the competition. - “I’ve been observing musical theatres of the Krasnoyarsk Region for many years and I can say for sure: they have enormous potential among the regional theatres of Russia, not counting the academic ones.”

The Theatre Night will open the Theatrical Spring Festival on March 16. In our theatre it’ll be dedicated to Nikolai Gogol, that’s why it’s called the Gogol Night. The winners of the competition will be announced on March 27, the International Theatre Day.
