"Il Trovatore" comes back to the Krasnoyarsk stage

The opera "Il Trovatore" of Giuseppe Verdi comes back to the Krasnoyarsk stage. On March 19 the performance will be presented to the Krasnoyarsk public at the concert performance. It will become continuation of the VIII International festival "Parade of Stars at the Opera".

Mikhail PirogovThe premiere of the opera "Il Trovatore" was held on March 22, 1987. The performance enjoyed wide popularity at public and was in the repertoire of theatre till 2002. And here after 15-year break this work returned to the stage of the theatre again.

"Il Trovatore" – the picturesque and emotional work, one of the greatest operas of the romantic period. Irreconcilable contrasts, collisions of two warring parties, deep and incredibly beautiful feelings of heroes are brightly transferred in it. It is the typical romantic drama with tangled intrigue and bloody outcome, duels, revenge, poison and fatal secrets.

Manriko's part will be performed by the guest of the festival the soloist of the Buryat opera and ballet theatre Mikhail Pirogov. The singer is already familiar to the Krasnoyarsk public on the competition of opera singers and directors named after P. I. Slovtsov on which he was awarded the Grand Prix, and also on participation in repertoire performances of the theatre.

"I am very glad to appear on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk opera theatre again! After the victory at the international competition of vocalists named after Pyotr Slovtsov I was lucky to sing part of Kavaradossi at the opera "Tosca" Puccini, – Mikhail Pirogov says. – And I again here, now in Manriko's part at the opera "Il Trovatore" of Verdi. The part has the difficulties, but how it is written, forces to feel fully all range of feelings".

Soloists of the Krasnoyarsk opera and ballet theatre Andrey Silenko (Count di Longa), Svetlana Ratslaf-Levchuk (Leonora), Olga Basova (Azuchena), Nikolay Pronin (Ferrando), Svetlana Cheremnova (Ines), Andrey Kolobov (Ruiz) will become the singer's partners on the scene. Behind the conductor's stand the honored artist of Russia Anatoly Chepurnoy.

Let's remind, the VIII International festival "Parade of Stars at the Opera" started on January 26. On March 22 the opera "Tosca" of G. Puccini, the 26th – "La Traviata" of G. Verdi, the 29th – "Prince Igor" of A. Borodin will be presented to public, "The parade of stars" will come to the end on March 31 with the big gala concert.
