Opening the Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s dressing room

The IX International Festival "Stars Parade in the Opera" is coming to an end. It was dedicated to People's Artist of Russia Dmitri Hvorostovsky this year. On March 28, a final gala concert will take place in the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The highlight of the event is going to be the opening of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s dressing room.

Dmitri HvorostovskyThe ceremony will be attended by First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Natalia Gelrud and Hvorostovsky’s cousin Alexei Zarkhin.

In memory of the great artist, the dressing room No. 207, where the singer used to prepare for performances, will become part of the theatrical museum. It will feature exhibits dedicated to our eminent townsman - rare photos of the singer, posters from the theatre funds, opera leaflet "The Queen of Spades" with Dmitri Alexandrovich's signature, a costume in which Khvorostovsky appeared on the stage in the opera "Iolanta" and other exhibits.

Spectators will be able to see the opening of the dressing room in the real-time mode on the screens in the foyer of the second floor.

After becoming the part of the museum, the dressing room won’t be closed for artists - baritone singers will be getting prepared for performances in it, as it was when Dmitri Alexandrovich worked here.

The festival closing programme will proceed with a big gala concert.

And, certainly, the leading soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The orchestra will be conducted by maestro Dmitri Yurovsky (the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Ghent, the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre).

The opening of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s dressing room will take place in 6.30 p.m. The gala concert begins at 7 p.m.
