The close of the 40th theatrical season

 

The 40th theatrical season of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Hvorostovsky is coming to an end. We invite you to visit the gala-concert the season will be closed with on June 15.

Spectators will immerse themselves into a special atmosphere even before the show begins. They’ll walk into the theatre along the red carpet like real stars, feeling eyes of passers-by on them. Once they cross the threshold, the spectators will plunge into the theatre’s magic.

While a string ensemble performs light classical music, the viewers will be able to try on the protagonists’ roles of the performances premiered during the season and make memorable pictures against the background of their decorations.

The programme of the gala concert can be interesting both to discerning connoisseurs of classical music and to those who are just beginning their acquaintance with the theatre. It includes the most vivid scenes from famous operas, fragments from ballets, choirs, arias, vocal duets and pas de deux. Excerpts from the most popular works in our repertoire will be performed - operas Prince Igor, Boris Godunov, Tosca, Il Trovatore, Aida. Soloists of the ballet company will present fragments of Swan Lake, Carmen, dances from the opera Ruslan and Lyudmila. The greatest boon for the audience will be scenes from the beloved ballet Spartacus.

“This year our theatre was given the name of Dmitri Hvorostovsky and I couldn’t afford to slur this event over while making the programme of the concert”, says the director of the concert, the theatre’s Principal Director Neeme Kuningas, - “In the second part of the concert we’ll honour the memory of the singer. Our soloists will perform trademark arias from the opera The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, in which Khvorostovsky shone at various times”.

The opera soloists will take part in the concert, such as People's Artists of Russia Larisa Marzoyeva and Vladimir Yefimov, Honoured Artists of Russia Vera Baranova and Oleg Alekseyev, Daria Ryabinko, Ksenia Khovanova, Inna Spodina, Svetlana Ratslaf-Levchuk, Alexander Mikhalev, Andrei Silenko, Alexei Bocharov, Ilya Krivchikov, Alexei Sokolov, as well as the soloists of the ballet company - Honoured Artist of Russia Maria Kuimova-Litvinenko, Elena Svinko, Yekaterina Bulgutova, Kirill Litvinenko and Georgi Bolsunovsky. Guests from Moscow will also come on stage - young artists who has already made a name for themselves in Moscow and European opera theatres, Georgi Sologub (bass) and Mikhail Dyadichenko (tenor).

During the intermission a drawing of three certificates (each for two persons) will be held - three lucky persons will be able to visit absolutely all the events that will take place in the next creative season on the stage of the theatre. The participants of such kind of the theatrical lottery drawing will be those who has bought tickets for three performances: the première of this season - the opera Il Trovatore by Verdi (May 26), the concert Russia Cast Adrift (June 14) and the final gala concert closing the 40th theatrical season (June 15).
