The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre is touring to Astrakhan. From June 19 till 22, our artists will perform two shows in the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre: the première of the 40th season - Giuseppe Verdi's opera Il Trovatore directed by the young director Maria Tikhonova, and the ballet opera based on Georges Bizet’s Carmen directed by Artistic Director of our theatre, Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Bobrov.
Il Trovatore is a colourful and emotional show and one of the greatest operas of the Romantic period.
Startling contrasts, clashes of two opposing sides, deep and incredibly beautiful feelings of the protagonists are vividly conveyed in it. It contains everything: intricate intrigue, a bloody payoff, duels, revenge and fatal secrets.
The Krasnoyarsk opera version is performed in the style of historical fantasy and resembles the atmosphere of the Game of Thrones TV series. According to the idea of the authors, the performance is not entirely authentic, but it’s based on many historical facts.
Carmen is one of the most vivid and popular works in the world classics. This performance fascinates spectators not only with delightful music, but also with the story of a passionate and freedom-loving gypsy.
The Siberians will present an unusual production to the Astrakhan audience. Its specific feature is that all the protagonists of the opera - Carmen and Micaëla, José and Escamillo - will simultaneously be performed both by opera and ballet soloists. The story about love, beauty and passion is going not only to be sung but also to be danced. The performance will feature the most brilliant opera episodes, and in the choreographic score the elements of classical and modern dance will organically be intertwined.
The tours of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will be held within the Big Tours Programme of the Federal Centre for Support of Tour Activities of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Last December, the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera, having introduced a gala concert of opera soloists and a stage version of the dramatic legend La Damnation de Faust by Hector Berlioz, as part of the Big Tours Programme as well.
