The Opera and Ballet Theatre to put on an evening performance dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Viktor Astafyev

On April 29, the concert dedicated to the Viktor Astafyev’s 95th anniversary takes place on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Spectators will have the chance to deeply immerse themselves in the life of the great writer, man, citizen.

The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre visitors will hear fragments of Viktor Petrovich’s favourite music — excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem, arias of Violetta of La Traviata by Verdi and Tosca of the Puccini’s opera, works by Sviridov, military songs performed by artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Regional Philharmonic.

In addition, the programme will feature memories - video stories of outstanding actors Alexei Petrenko and Georgiy Zhzhonov. People's Artist of the USSR Eugene Nesterenko (he now lives in Vienna) will tell via Skype what connects him with Viktor Petrovich. The singer and the writer had been friends for many years. Eugene Eugenievich will show unique materials - literary works, letters, sheet music, objects.

An important part of the evening will be excerpts from the works of the writer, theatrical sketches (they will be embodied on the stage by the principal artists of the Pushkin Drama Theater - Eduard Mikhnenkov, Vasily Reshetnikov and young actors), as well as fragments from the choreographic symphony Tsar Fish based on the Viktor Astafyev’s works. It was staged to the music of the Krasnoyarsk composer Vladimir Porotsky.
