The production troupe of a high level is working on the Yermak opera

The high-class production troupe was invited to the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera House to stage the Yermak opera. The theatre’s 41st season will end with its premiere on June 27, 28 and 29.

Several years have passed from the idea to the implementation of the project. The contemporary composer, Honoured Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of Russia, Professor at the Moscow Conservatory, laureate of the Government Prize of the Russian Federation in the sphere of culture Alexander Tchaikovsky has written the opera’s score through the request of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House. Also, Alexander Vladimirovich is a music director and conductor of the opera.

This significant show is based on real historical events. Its production director is the Artistic Director of the Natalya Sats Musical Theatre, the winner of the Russian Theatre Award Golden Mask, George Isaakyan. He has worked in the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre for 20 years; in 2010 he moved to Moscow, but still continues to collaborate with the regions of Russia (the theatres of Ufa, Samara, Petrozavodsk, Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk). George Isaakyan is President of the Russian Association of Musical Theatres. The director believes that the opera art helps “sew” a huge expanse of the country together.

The scenery design of the Yermak opera was created by People’s artist of Russia, the principal designer of the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), the art director of the Mariinsky Theater, the winner of numerous theatre awards, Vyacheslav Okunev.  He has designed sceneries for more than 350 opera and ballet performances of various Russian and world’s best theatres.

He has already had the opportunity to work with the Yermak’s production director: in the Natalya Sats Musical Theatre Okunev worked on the children's version of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet.
