On June 10, the Night Special of People’s Artist of Russia Anatoly Berezin will take place on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The singer is loved and appreciated by fans of classical art for his expressive voice, bright stage appearance and acting skills.
Anatoly Alekseyevich is one of the few artists who has served in our theatre almost from its very foundation. In 1981, he was invited to the opera company right after the audition. The bass of a beautiful timbre, his appearance ideal for an opera singer and his talent to be convincing in the roles of both Russian and foreign repertoires allowed him to immediately become one of the leading soloists of the theatre.
Over 37 years of working in our theatre, the singer has gathered a rich repertoire of more than 40 parts. Some of his most spectacular roles, which the audience admired and applaused to, were Mephistopheles (Faust), Basilio (The Barber of Seville), Varlaam (Boris Godunov), Galitsky (Prince Igor), Gremin (Eugene Onegin) and others.
His performing skills and acting talent has many a time been awarded at festivals and competitions with prizes, "masks" and diplomas. A lot of articles and reviews about his performances were published in newspapers and magazines.
“I’ve chosen some of my most favourite works for my concert’s programme, and among them there are those that the audience may not have heard. Along with the young soloists we’ll perform arias from the operas The Barber of Seville by Rossini and Faust by Gouno in the first part of the concert. Moreover, I’ll come to the stage not in a tuxedo, but in the costumes of characters”, - says Anatoly Berezin. - “Once I won the audience award at the Russian Competition of Russian and Romani Romances in Vladimir. And it’s the old romances that will be performed in the second part: "Only once ...", "Shine, Shine, My Star", "Dark eyes", "The Chrysanthemum Finished Blossoming" and others.”
Anatoly Berezin invited to take part in his Night Special both the theatre colleagues of old standing - People's Artist of Russia Larisa Marzoyeva, Honoured Artists of Russia Natalia Sokolova and Herman Yefremov (they’ll perform all favourite romances) and young opera soloists - Honoured Artist of Russia Oleg Alekseyev, Alexander Mikhalev, Zoya Rzheplianskaya, Andrei Kolobov and Vyacheslav Nechipurenko (they’ll sing opera arias).
The choir of the Theatre will also perform at the concert. The orchestra will be conducted by Alexander Kosinsky, Honoured Artist of Russia.
