The festive concert dedicated to the double anniversary of the conductor, Honoured Artist of Russia Alexander Kosinsky will be held on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on December 3.

In November 2023, Alexander Khrisanfovich Kosinsky celebrated his 75th birthday. He is an eminent conductor who has served at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre since its foundation in 1978. In December 2023, the Theatre celebrates its 45th anniversary. And the maestro, like his theatre, will celebrate 45 years of his artistic journey. Now, the conductor's repertoire includes more than 60 opera and ballet productions. Among them, there are both time-honoured productions that have been running for many years and iconic premieres of the last decade - the operas Prisoner of the Caucasus by César Cui, Yermak by Alexander Tchaikovsky, I Capuleti e i Montecchi by Vincenzo Bellini, and others.

In his anniversary concert programme VIVA OPERA, Alexander Kosinsky is going to present excerpts of operatic masterpieces while conducting the orchestra and along with the soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The first part of the concert will feature arias and duets from the operas of Ruggero Leoncavallo, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Leo Delibes (the famous Flower Duet from the opera Lakme performed by Olga Monastyrshina and Victoria Kangina). The second part will also feature fragments from operas by Russian operatic geniuses - Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Alexander Borodin. It’ll include excerpts from the iconic premieres of the previous and current seasons: The Oprichnik by Tchaikovsky (Natalia’s Arioso performed by Victoria Maslyukova) and Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky (Song of Varlam performed by Sergei Samusev). The highlight of the concert will be the grand finale of Tchaikovsky's opera Iolanta.
