Vera Baranova will celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of her artistic journey

Honoured Artist of Russia, soloist of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, teacher of the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Arts Vera Pavlovna Baranova celebrates the 30th anniversary of her creative career in 2023. The gala concert dedicated to this event will take place on November 29.

Right after she had graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts, Vera Baranova joined the Krasnoyarsk opera company in 1993. For 30 years, she has performed more than 40 parts in the world opera productions; most of them were awarded at the regional festival Theatrical Spring. At the gala concert, the prima donna will present her repertoire by performing excerpts from operas by Gaetano Donizetti, Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giacomo Puccini, Jacques Offenbach. The vocal works by Francis Poulenc and Richard Strauss and music by contemporary Russian composers Valery Gavrilin and Vladimir Dashkevich will also be performed.

In 2013, Vera Baranova was conferred the academic degree of senior lecturer, and in 2018 - the degree of professor. Since 2020, she has been managing the Faculty of Solo Singing and Opera Training at the Siberian Institute of Arts. Over the years, Vera Pavlovna has trained many successful opera singers who serve not only in the Krasnoyarsk Opera House but also in other opera venues of Russia including the metropolitan ones. The opera artists will come to congratulate their beloved and revered mentor: this is especially important in Year of the Teacher and Mentor. They’re going to perform along with her on the stage. Among them are students of the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Arts Yekaterina Begunovich (soprano), Angelina Zhitina (soprano), Andrey Kozlov (bass), as well as the soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Kristina Gontsa (Alieva). In 2022, these three young singers participated in the joint project of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre: the production of Mozart’s opera Le Nozze di Figaro (Vera Pavlovna is artistic director of this project).

The soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House, graduates of the Faculty of Solo Singing and Opera Training Davit Yesayan and Sevastian Martyniuk will take part in the gala concert, as well as choral ensembles of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and Ivanov-Radkevich Krasnoyarsk College of Arts. Maestro Eldar Nagiyev will take the conductor's stand. The concert programme is directed by Chief Director of the Theatre Irina Lychagina.

Vera Pavlovna Baranova will close the concert with the extremely complex opera hit: Norma’s cavatina Casta Diva from the opera Norma by Vincenzo Bellini.
