Alexei Bogorad to conduct the ballet Anyuta

Alexei Bogorad, a guest maestro from the Bolshoi Theatre, will take the conductor’s stand at the ballet Anyuta by Valery Gavrilin that will be performed at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on October 12.

Alexei Vladimirovich descends from an artistic family: his father is the famous conductor Vladimir Bogorad. Alexei began studying music at the age of three. He began his career as an instrumentist: having graduated with honours from the Moscow Conservatory majoring in clarinet in 2001, he used to be a soloist in the Bolshoi Theatre orchestra for a long time. But he did not stop there: having received a second degree in opera and symphony conducting, he took the post of maestro in this iconic theatre of Russia. There, Alexei Bogorad worked as production conductor on the productions Moidodyr by Efrem Podgaits (the ballet world premiere), L'Enfant et les Sortilèges by Maurice Ravel, The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra by Benjamin Britten, Marco Spada to the music by Daniel-François-Esprit Auber, Orlando to the music by Edward Elgar, Philip Glass, Lera Auerbach, and Elena Kats-Chernin

As an invited conductor, he collaborates with plenty of music theatres and bands in Russia (the Mariinsky Theatre, NOVAT, Eugeny Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, St. Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, and others) and in Europe (the Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra, orchestras of the Teatro di San Carlo, Opera Română Craiova, and Prague National Theatre).

Alexei Bogorad is a laureate of the 1st prize of the Lovro von Matačić International Conducting Competition (2011, Zagreb) and 2nd prize of the Stefan Turchak International Conducting Competition (2010, Kyiv).

The ballet Anyuta to the music of Valery Gavrilin will be performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as well in the last month of 2023: December 7, 8 and 9.
