October 2023: opera and ballet debuts

In October, artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present several new debuts in ballet and opera productions.

The first ballet of the month will be Giselle by Adolphe Adam (October 3). There are many debut appearances in it: Matvey Nikishaev as Albert, as well as Denis Kazarin (as Hans the Gamekeeper), Sofia Rybina (as Giselle's rival, the Duke's daughter Bathilde), Ksenia Krentovskaya (in Willis pas de deux), Veronica Latipova, Kirill Bulychev (in the inserted pas de deux). For the first time, the young artist Ruslan Abolmasov (a recent graduate of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College who has just joined the ballet company of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House) will appear in the role of the squire Wilfried.

The performance of the ballet Anyuta to the music by Valery Gavrilin on October 12, 2023 may be called unique: for the first time on the Krasnoyarsk stage, the title role will be performed by Artistic Director of the Theatre’s ballet company, People’s Artist of Russia Anna Zharova. Debuts will also be performed by Matvey Nikishaev (Artynov), Yuri Romanchuk and Anton Lysov (Officers), Alexei Kurdyaev (Organ-grinder), Oleg Poselnikov (Traveling peddler), Alina Zyabkina (Governess), Yekaterina Kanyukova (Girls pas de deux), Semion Belsky (Dandies pas de trois). For the first time, the youngest dancers will take the stage as Anyuta’s little brothers: the children of Krasnoyarsk ballet soloists Eva Bulychiova and Victoria Skalyun.

The opera company will present the only debut in October, but of the famous part: Anna Avakyan will perform Violetta for the first time in La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi.
