The narrator of The Last Bow will be Yakov Allenov

In the Ballets Night event The Last Bow based on the works of the Siberian writer Viktor Astafiev, dramatic actor, Honoured Artist of Russia Yakov Allenov will come to the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as a reciter. The show will take place on May 1 and 2: it’ll be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the writer.

Yakov Allenov (now an actor at the  Akimov Saint Petersburg Comedy Theatre) is well known and remembered in the Krasnoyarsk Region. He had served for many years at the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theatre and the Mayakovsky Norilsk Polar Drama Theatre. Yakov is a graduate of the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts, Honoured Figure of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region. In 2020, he received the title of Honoured Artist of Russia.

Yakov Allenov has already taken part in the production of The Last Bow: not on the Krasnoyarsk stage but during the Theatre’s tour in Crimea in 2014.

The Last Bow is a project of the Creative Workshop of the legendary Vladimir Vasiliev, People's Artist of the USSR, dancer, choreographer, actor, theatrical director, ballet tutor. Six young choreographers staged six one-act ballets based on the works by Viktor Astafiev: The Last Bow, You Are the Gray-winged Dove of Mine, More Paths through the Field, War Pastoral, Cavaradossi’s Aria, The Truth in the Trenches. Vasiliev himself acted in several capacities: artistic director, stage director, multimedia set designer, and the host of the show. At the premiere, it was he who read the poignant lines of Astafiev’s works, which are woven into the choreographic fabric of the production.

Over the years, Astafiev’s prose in The Last Bow was also recited by an actor of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theatre Anatoly Novosiolov and People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Garmash. In 2024, 10 years after his debut in this role, Yakov Allenov will again take the stage as the narrator.
