The shows of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre at the Theatrical Spring 2024

Three productions of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will be presented at the regional festival Theatrical Spring 2024 in March.

On the weekend of March 16 and 17, the Theatre will present the ballet Dante’s Catharsis to the music of contemporary composers. Artistic Director of the production Nikita Dmitrievsky was nominated in the category Best Choreographer.

On Saturday, March 16, two operas in one production He, She and the Telephone will be shown. The production received the nomination in the category Best Premiere of the Season. The performers of the leading parts are also competing for the award: Anna Kharitonova for performing Lucy in Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera Telephone and Aliona Babivskaya for performing Young Woman in Francis Poulenc’s opera The Human Voice.

On Wednesday, March 20, Daniil Frenkel's opera Without a Dowry is performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. This production pulled a bunch of nominations in the following categories:

  • Best Conductor – Alexander Yudasin;
  • Best Director – Daniil Dmitriev;
  • Best Actress – Victoria Maslyukova (for performing Larisa Dmitrievna);
  • Best Actor – Sevastian Martyniuk (for performing Sergei Sergeevich Paratov).

Besides, Without a Dowry was nominated in the category Best Production. In total, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre competes for nine Crystal Masks awards. The results will be announced at the festival closing ceremony, which will take place at the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theatre on International Theatre Day (March 27).
