Born on January 18

Anna graduated from the Novosibirsk State Choreography School in 1997 (the class of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation T.K.Kapustina). In 1997, she joined the ballet company of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as a prima ballerina. Anna has an vast repertoire of leading roles in classical and contemporary ballets.

On the stage of the Theatre, she performed such parts as Giselle (the eponymous ballet by Adam), Marie, Fée-Dragée (The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky), Princess Aurora, Fairy of Diamonds (Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky), Odette-Odile (Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky), Shirin (The Legend of Love by Melikov), Svanhilda (Coppelia by Delibes), Phrygia (Spartacus by Khachaturian), solo dance (Sonata to the music by Scarlatti), solo dance (Symphony for Dot Matrix Printers based on the music by Mozart), solo dance (Roads of Love to the music by Kurt Weill, Joseph Kosma, Francis Poulenc), Ballerina (Petrushka by Stravinsky), solo dance (Russian Seasons to the music by Desyatnikov), solo dance (The Serenade to the music by Tchaikovsky), solo dance (Pas de Deux  Tchaikovsky), solo dance (Who Cares? by Gershwin), solo dance (Immortality in Love to the music by Philip Glass), Carmen (Carmen by Roland Petit to the music by Bizet), solo dance (Walpurgis Night from the opera Faust by Gounod), etc.

She toured in Spain, Portugal, Japan, Egypt, Thailand, China, Italy, France, South Korea, Kazakhstan. Anna took part in international projects in South Korea and Finland.

In 2013, she opened Anna Zharova's Ballet School Zhar-Ptitsa (The Firebird).

In 2014, she graduated from the Siberian Institute of Management (a branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation) majoring in Human Resource Management.

In the 2012-2013 season, she was a member of the jury of the Golden Mask National Theatre Award.

Since May 2023, Anna Zharova has been Artistic Director of the ballet company of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Laureate of the award of the Novosibirsk branch of the Union of Theatre Professionals of the Russian Federation in the nominated category Best Ballet Part for performing Marie and Fairy Dragee in the Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker (Novosibirsk, 1999);

Laureate of the Terpsichore award for high professional skills and achievements in ballet art (Novosibirsk, 2000);

The 3rd prize, bronze medal, and the title of a laureate of the 9th International Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers in the nominated category Duets (Moscow, 2001);

Special Jury Prize of the National Theatre Award Golden Mask for performing the part of Swanhilda in the ballet Coppelia by Delibes (Moscow, 2002);

Winner of the contest Woman of the Year (Novosibirsk, 2002);

Laureate of the award of the Novosibirsk branch of the Union of Theatre Professionals of the Russian Federation in the nominated category Best Ballet Part  for performing Kitri in Don Quixote by Minkus (Novosibirsk, 2003);

Nominee for the National Theatre Award Golden Mask in the category Ballet / Contemporary Dance / Female Role for performing Kitri in the ballet Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus (Moscow, 2004);

Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2004);

Diploma of the theatre award Paradise in the category Best Female Part in a Ballet for performing Cinderella in the eponymous ballet by Prokofiev (Novosibirsk, 2006);

Diploma of the theatre award Paradise in the category Best Female Part in a Ballet for solo performing in the ballets Does It Matter? and Immortality of Love (Novosibirsk, 2009);

Nominee for the National Theatre Award Golden Mask in the category Best Female Role in a Ballet / Contemporary Dance for the solo dance in the ballet Who Cares? (Moscow, 2010);

A letter of commendation from Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation A.A. Avdeev "For the great contribution to the development of culture, many years of fruitful work and in view of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre" (2010);
