The International Ballet Competition "Grand Prix of Siberia" (hereinafter called Competition) will be held within the framework of the IIId International Forum "Ballet, the XXI century".
Ballet dancers and students of ballet schools of Russia and other countries can participate in the Competition.
The Competition is held in two age groups: junior (boys and girls) and senior (men and women.)
Male and female dancers who are younger than 19 years of age on the moment of the first day of Competition may join the Junior Division.
Male and female dancers who are 19 years old and not older than 26 years of age on the moment of the first day of the Competition - may join the Senior Division.
The Competition will take place in Krasnoyarsk in October 5-9, 2014 on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater.
Contestants must get a written permission from the authors, legatees or other right holders to perform a piece and use the music.
The Competition will be held in tree Rounds. The first two rounds are selective and the Third round is the Final. The First round is held by video recordings without the presence of the contestants.
After the First round no more than 40 participants will be admitted to the Second round in two of the age groups.
The order of the performance at the Second and the Third rounds will be fixed by the drawing of lots and will remain the same till the end of the Competition. In duets the order number is determined by the number of the female partner.
After the registration of contestants and the drawing of lots any changes of the program can be allowed in exceptional cases and with the permission of the Jury.
No more than 20 participants in the Junior and Senior groups will be allowed to participate in the Third round, which means 10 participants in each age group -5 boys and 5 girls in the Junior group and 5 women and 5 men in the Senior group. The non competing partners are not included in this number.
Performance of each contestant will be estimated individually notwithstanding the fact whether he or she performs in a duet or solo. Contestants who perform in duets will have the right to dance with a partner who doesn't take part in the Competition. If a contestant is performing in a duet is not allowed to the next Round, he or she shall stay till the end of the Competition at the expense of the Competition board and perform free of charge with his or her partner in the next Round (s), the Gala concert of the Laureates.
Participants perform to a tape recording or with a pianist. If necessarily the Competition Board will provide a contestant with a pianist free of charge.
Those contestants who perform with a pianist shall have all the music material of their repertoire with them.
The Organizer of the Forum will not provide the contestants with music material, stage costumes and ballet shoes.
Participants who use tape recordings should submit them to the Management of the Competition upon arrival to the Competition. The tape recording should be submitted for each piece on a separate compact or mini disc with the name of the contestant, their lot number, the title of the piece, the Round number clearly written on it. Contestants should also have an extra set of music for all the Rounds.
All the laureates and Diploma Holders as well as their partners and pianists shall be obliged to take part free of charge in the Gala Concert and the Closing Ceremony of the Competition in accordance with the program approved by the Organizing Committee.
The International Federation of Ballet Competitions or the Organizer of the Forum reserves the right to invite the Laureates of the Competition to perform in ballet productions or concerts both in Russia and abroad within the period of 2014-2015 on the conditions of the IFBC or the Organizer of thr Forum.
The Organizer of the Forum if applied to in advance, will assist the accompanying people (coaches, relatives of a contestant) in hotel booking and tickets to the performances within the frameworks of the Competition program.
The Management of the Competition will provide the participants with ballet studios and no less than one rehearsal before each round on the stage where the Competition will take place.
The Competition Board reserves all the rights to broadcast all the rounds and also the Closing Ceremony (including the Gala concert), concerts of Laureates and Diploma Holders on TV, filming, recording on video carries and their further distribution without paying the fee to the participants, their partners and pianists. The Organizer of the Forum possesses the exclusive rights on signing contacts with other parties on realization of the named materials of the Competition.
Video or film recording is possible only upon a special permission of the Organizer of the Competition.

b) A modem piece specially choreographed for the competition (in any style) or a fragment from ballets staged after 2000 Performance duration - for not more than 4 minutes.
Round III
a) one variation from classic ballets
b) one variation or a fragment from ballets- fairy tales (see the Notes)
Duets:
Round I (shall be held without the presence of contestants by videos)
a) one variation from a classic ballet of the XIX-XX centuries
A video of the variation of the next round is allowed
Round II
a) pas de deux from classic ballets of the XIX-XX centuries
b) One Modern piece specially choreographed for the Competition (in any style) or a fragment from ballets staged after 2000. Performance duration: Duet performance - for not more than 6 minutes, in the event of performing separately - for not more than 4 minutes each.
Round III
one Pas de deux or duet from ballets on fairy-tales.
• Note: ballets on fairy-tales: «Coppelia» by Delibes, «Fairy of Dolls» by Bayer; «Little Hunchbacked Horse» by Pugni; «Little Hunchbacked Horse» by Schedrin; «The Sleeping Beauty», «The Nutcracker» (except for variations of main characters), «The Snow Maiden» by Tchaikovsky ; «Cinderella», «Stone Flower» by Prokofiev; «Shurale» by Yarullin; «Cipollino», «Snow-White» by K.Khachaturian and other ballets.
Restrictions in ballets by Tchaikovsky : "The Sleeping Beauty", "The Nutcracker" (except for variations of main characters) - concern contestants performing in Solo Division only.
Senior Division.
Soloists:

Round II
a) two variations from classic ballets of the XIX-XX centuries
Round III
a) two variations from classic ballets

Performance duration - for not more than 5 minutes.
Duets
Round I (shall be held without the presence of contestants by videos)
a) pas de deux or on variation performed by eachparticipant of a duet from classic ballets of the XIX-XX centuries. A video of the repertoire of the next rounds is allowed.
Round II
a) one pas de deux from classic ballets of the XIX-XX centuries
Round III
a) one pas de deux from classic ballets;
b) a modem piece specially choreographed for the Competition(in any style) or a fragment from ballet, staged after 2000.
Performance duration: Duet performance - for not more than 7 minutes, in the event of performing separately - for not more than 5 minutes each.
General provision:
- Each piece of the II and the III round should be performed in one Round only.
- Duet or solo performance of modern pieces is allowed for Duets in Junior and Senior Divisions
