A harp joins The Orchestra Formula

For the first time since The Orchestra Formula cycle started, harp-player Kira Lagozinskaya will join the soloists. The first concert in the 45th season will take place on October 23 in the theatre’s lobby.

“I appreciate the universal possibilities of my musical instrument, so I am always open to interesting creative suggestions and ideas. In the upcoming concert, I want to introduce a harp in ensembles to the audience. It is not accidental that we fixed upon the classics. To start with, I’d like to show how the classical works of Bach and Beethoven sound when played upon an harp taking us to that erstwhile era. Secondly, I myself made the transcription of some works for a harp. This experience and skill are also useful as it helps to enrich the harp repertoire,” said Kira Lagozinskaya.

Kira will perform several works of the concert programme: bourree of Partita No. 1 (along with Eugenia Solunskaya (piano)) and Prelude in C minor (along with Olga Spiridonova (violin)) by Johann Sebastian Bach, the second part of the Trio Sonata in G minor (along with Pavel Studennikov (flute) and Andrei Kholomkin (bassoon)) and Andante from Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata Pathétique (with Olga Spiridonova and Alexei Ivanenko (cellos)).

Kira was born in the Crimea, in Yalta. She graduated from a music school in the harp class, the Kiev Music College, and in 2011 - the Prokofiev Donetsk Music Academy. During her studies, she has already collaborated with various symphony orchestras; since 2012, she has been a soloist and musician of the Donetsk Philharmonic Orchestra. Kira worked in an Austrian orchestra touring in the best music venues of Europe. Since 2018, she has been a soloist and musician of the orchestra of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre. Kira Lagozinskaya joined the orchestra of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2022 at the end of previous season; she took part in large-scale productions of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
