Artists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre to take part in the wind music art forum

Musicians of the orchestra of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Polina Sablina (oboe, English horn) and Eugeny Sablin (trombone), soloist of the opera company Aliona Zafran (soprano) take part in the 2nd Russian Forum of Wind Music Art Yenissei Fanfares.

The Forum is held in the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Arts from the 12th to 17th of December, 2022, and supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Valery Khalilov Spiritual Society, the Scientific and Educational Centre for Cultural Personnel of the Krasnoyarsk Region, and the Intellect and Culture Association. The programme of the Forum includes concerts, business and educational events.

Within the Wind Music Art Forum, Polina Sablina will hold several master classes in setting up an oboist’s way of performance at the initial stage of education for young musicians.

Eugeny Sablin successfully combines performing and teaching activities: he is a senior lecturer at the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Art, artistic director and conductor of the Institute's wind band, music arranger, orchestra programmer. Eugeny is the 1st degree laureate of the 1st International competition festival of the wind, pop-jazz orchestral, and ensemble music Neman Fest-2021 in the category Arrangement (Belarus).

Eugeny Sablin participates in the creative laboratory of the Forum as an expert, as well as in the final event of the Yenissei Fanfares - the Parade of Conductors gala concert. The audience will be able to hear how the wind band of the Siberian Institute of Art sounds while conducted by nine conductors from Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Kyzyl, Istra. Eugeny, as artistic director, will open and close the concert with Dmitry Shostakovich's Festive Overture and Pyotr Kazimir's Siberian March respectively.

Aliona Zafran will take part in this concert as a vocalist: she will perform Serena's lament from the opera Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin. Yuri Zdrogov from Istra will conduct the wind band of the Siberian Institute of Art during her performance.
