On April 1, a concert “Ave Maria” will be performed in the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after D.A. Hvorostovsky in memory of the victims of the fire in the Winter Cherry shopping centre in Kemerovo. It’ll replace the previously announced comic opera “Viva la Mamma” by Gaetano Donizetti.
The leading opera and ballet soloists, the choir and the orchestra of the theatre will take part in the concert. The concert’s programme will feature excerpts from the best works of opera classics and instrumental music, including a fragment of Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi, Lacrimosa by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ave Maria by Giulio Caccini and Franz Schubert, Adagio by Tomaso Albinoni and many others.
Money raised from ticket sales will be transferred to the Kemerovo Regional Branch of the Russian Red Cross for families affected by the fire in Kemerovo.
The collective body of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre expresses deep, sincere condolences to the families of those who died in the terrible fire. We invite the Krasnoyarsk people to honour the memory of the deceased and share the pain of loss with us.
The concert begins at 6 p.m.
P.S. Tickets purchased for the opera "Viva la Mamma" are valid for the concert "Ave Maria", either you can visit the Donizetti’s opera on May 31, or you can hand tickets back at the box office.
