Casts announced for the premiere shows of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto

The production of Rigoletto has entered its final stage. The premiere performances will take place on February 6, 7, and 8, and the casts for these dates have now been announced. Alongside soloists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the performances will feature guest artists: soprano Yekaterina Begunovich (Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Russia), tenor Damir Saduakhasov (Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Kazakhstan), and David Cecconi (Italy).

A special performance of the opera—a dress rehearsal—for holders of the Pushkin Card is scheduled for February 6. The principal roles will be sung by Zoya Rzheplyanskaya (Gilda), Honoured Cultural Figure of the Krasnoyarsk Region Alexander Mikhaliov (Rigoletto), Yanis Shklyaev (the Duke of Mantua), Vladimir Lebedev (Sparafucile), and Elena Nikitina (Maddalena).

The first official premiere open to the general public will take place on February 7. That night, the audience will hear the guest soloists: Yekaterina Begunovich as Gilda, David Cecconi as Rigoletto, and Damir Saduakhasov as the Duke. The roles of Sparafucile and Maddalena will be performed by the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre soloists Vladimir Alexandrovich and Honoured Artist of the Krasnoyarsk Region Darya Ryabinko.

A stellar cast of audience favourites awaits on February 8: Alexandra Cherpakova (Gilda), Pavel Antsiferov (Rigoletto), Valentin Kolesnikov (the Duke), Anatoly Badaev (Sparafucile), and Victoria Kangina (Maddalena).

The full casts are available on the theatre’s website, Krasopera.ru, where tickets can also be purchased. Only a limited number of seats remain.
