In autumn, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will hold five shows of the Cesare Pugni’s ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit in September and November. The production is loved by the public and highly appreciated by experts: it is three times laureate of the prestigious theatre award Golden Mask.

The September performances are dedicated to one of the creators of the performance - Honoured Artist of Russia Sergei Bobrov, choreographer, author of the edited version of the libretto. Sergei Rudolfovich has served for 20 years at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; 16 of them he was its Artistic Director. He celebrates his 60th birthday on September 6, 2023. Currently he works with performers at the rehearsals of Catarina.

“All the actors are highly motivated, they are actively rehearsing, and I am sure that the show will be laudable,” Sergei Bobrov shared his impressions.

Natalia Bobrova (September 9) and Anna Fedosova (September 10) will take the stage in the ballet’s title part. The part of the Catarina’s beloved artist Salvator Rosa will be performed by Matvey Nikishaev (September 9) and the soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre Marcello Pelizzoni (September 10). On September 9, the Bolshoi Theatre principal dancer Igor Pugachiov will dance Diavolino, a help-mate of the beautiful robber; the dancer already performed this part on the Krasnoyarsk stage in March 2023). And on September 10, Oleksiy Skalyun will make his debut as Diavolino.

The ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit will also be performed three times in November: on the 10th, 11th, 12th; the cast will be announced later. Tickets for these five events are already on sale.
