Conductor Dmitri Volosnikov and soloist Eugene Mizin to perform Traviata

On April 10, guest musicians will take part in the Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata opera performance in the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet. Dmitri Volosnikov, conductor of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre, will come to the conductor’s stand. Eugene Mizin, principal singer of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (Vladivostok), will perform the part of Alfred.

Dmitri Volosnikov is one of the creators of this new stage version of La Traviata being the musical director of the performance premièred in 2016. The conductor has been working at Novaya Opera for over 20 years and collaborated with the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2013-2017 as the principal guest conductor of the performances Swan Lake, Boris Godunov, Amadeus.

In 2015, Dmitry Volosnikov won the Krasnoyarsk Regional Festival Theatrical Spring in the Best Conductor in the Musical Theatre nomination and was awarded the Crystal Mask for the Amadeus opera performance staged to the music by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri.

Laureate of international competitions, tenor Eugene Mizin previously performed as well in the Amadeus opera – he sang the part of Mozart. He was a principal soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Theatre between 2014 and 2016. The artist is back to Vladivostok; since 2016, he has been working in the opera company of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, but he continues to collaborate with Krasnoyarsk as a guest soloist. On April 13, he appeared on our theatre’s stage as Jason in Luigi Cherubini’s Médée.
