Daria Frolova won the competition of the International Opera Agency

The principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Daria Frolova won the competition of the Omega Music Management agency held in Bulgaria in October.

The agency operates in the field of opera and classical music helping young talented artists fully develop their potential and find a promising engagement. This year, the event included master classes of experienced singers and teachers, as well as auditions for participants as part of the Omega Opera Concert project.

“The masterclasses were held by managers, directors of European theatres, conductors, directors, theatrical critics. The recordings of the singers' performances were sent to the jury members, they listened to all the participants in the opera project and gave marks for several parameters including vocal and acting skills, and style of performance. As a result, I happened to score the highest number of points. Of course, I was hoping for some incentive prizes but I did not expect a complete victory because my competitors were peer ones.” said Daria Frolova.

And the prizes of this competition are really useful for the career of any young performer. They include a performance at the Boris Christoff Museum Centre (Boris Christoff was a legendary Bulgarian bass singer) in Sofia in the spring of 2022, as well as a concert or performance with a symphony orchestra in one of the theatres of Bulgaria in 2022-2023. The prize also includes a one-year contract with the agency, recordings, photo sessions, and a winner’s own website.

It’s worth mentioning that Daria picked up the three most complex and virtuoso excerpts in the history of opera to perform at the competition: Olympia's verses from Jacques Offenbach's opera The Tales of Hoffmann, and two spectacular arias of the Queen of the Night from Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte. And she has successfully avoided all the vocal "pitfalls".
