The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer Elena Svinko has left its ballet company. From now on, Elena will appear on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, one of the most significant music theatres in Russia.
Elena Svinko is a participant and winner of numerous Russian and international competitions; she is well known and loved not only in Krasnoyarsk. She received offers from several theatres at once. But she signed a contract with the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
“I'm a kind of scared! I don’t know how I resolved upon taking this step, because I have lived all my life in Krasnoyarsk: I have a family here, a house, my theatre. In general, I want to grow on, try new choreography and other productions. And my age still allows me to learn something new. It's probably never too late to go back. Perhaps, when I finish my career, I will get back to Krasnoyarsk. I talked to Managing Director of the Theatre, as well as Artistic Director Sergei Rudolfovich Bobrov. They understood me and agreed that my time had come. They also asked me not to forget Krasnoyarsk, they said they would invite me to perform here and were always glad to see me on the stage of the Theatre. I will be happy to come to Krasnoyarsk, to perform here! So they let me go on a good journey for further self-development,” Elena Svinko said.
The Mikhailovsky Theatre has a wide repertoire: the ballerina hopes that she will have the opportunity to dance more and work with various choreographers.
Elena's repertoire includes more than twenty solo parts. For the last time within the Krasnoyarsk company, she brilliantly danced the title role of the sensational ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre as part of a tour.
