Elena Svinko won the Soul of Dance as a Ballet Star

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer Elena Svinko won the prestigious Soul of Dance award of the professional magazine Ballet in the nominated category Ballet Star.

This professional award was established in 1994 by the respected magazine Ballet along with the Ministry of Culture of Russia. It is awarded to national culture figures for their achievements in the development of the choreographic art of the country. Over the years, the Soul of Dance award has become a symbol of Russian choreography; receiving this prestigious professional award is ballet dancers’ dream.

This year, the Ballet magazine celebrates its 40th anniversary. The Soul of Dance awarding confirmed once again that Elena Svinko is a real star of ballet art. She is not only a crowd puller - a bright, emotional and highly skilled performer of the main roles, such as Catarina, Giselle, Odette, Raymonda, Juliet, and many others - her stage activity is also highly appreciated by experts.

Elena Svinko is a laureate of numerous prestigious international and Russian competitions. Elena’s awards include the 1st Prize at the Russian Ballet Dancers and Choreographers Competition (Moscow, 2020); 1st Prize and Gold Medal at the 7th Yuri Grigorovich International Competition Young Ballet of the World (Sochi, 2019); 2nd prize at the International Ballet Competition Grand Prix of Siberia (Krasnoyarsk, 2016, 2014); 3rd Prize of the XXVII International Ballet Competition in Varna (Bulgaria, 2016); 1st Prize of the Russian Ballet Dancers and Choreographers Competition in the category Modern Dance in the Music Theatre (Moscow, 2015), and many others.

Now, the award of the Ballet magazine The Soul of Dance in the category Ballet Star adds to this roster of her honours. The awards will be handed at the competition winners gala concert in May 2022.
