In February, artists of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present new significant debuts in ballet and opera productions.
In a series of performances of Herman Løvenskiold's ballet La Sylphide that has not been performed in Krasnoyarsk for two years, several roles will be debuts for their performers. Thus, Ksenia Krentovskaya will take the stage for the first time in the title role (night performance on February 10). Alina Bezrukikh (on February 9) and Sakiho Kobayashi (the morning show on February 10) will debut as Nancy.
On February 9, the role of Gurn will be performed for the first time by a principal dancer of the ballet company Oleksiy Skaliun; Oleg Poselnikov will perform the role of an old peasant. The parts of Scottish peasants (in Pas de Deux of Reel) will be new for Artiom Mazunin (on February 9), Ruslan Abolmasov and Dmitri Korabanko (the morning show on February 10), Nikolai Mashukov and Nikita Lysenko (the night show on February 10).
In Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Sakiho Kobayashi (the young dancer joined the ballet company only this season) makes her debut in three roles: a villager (on February 23), in the Neapolitan dance and Pas de Quatre of Swans (on February 24). Anna Ryabenko will, for the first time, perform a solo in the Spanish dance on February 24.
In the second series of performances of Modest Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov (the premiere took place in November 2023), a young baritone singer, trainee of the Theatre’s opera company Yuri Zabolotnov will make his debut as Mityukha on February 4.
The night show on February 7 will especially be important for the opera soloists Aliona Zafran and Honoured Artist of Buryatia Mergen Sandanov: the singers will make their debut in Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera Iolanta in the leading roles – Iolanta and Vaudemont.
