The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre’s principal dancer George Bolsunovsky was awarded the Krasnoyarsk Mayor Award for the young artists in the nominated category For Significant Achievements in Art and Culture.
George’s talent is widely recognized for the second time in 2019: in March he won the Crystal Mask in the Best Male Role in a Ballet Performance nomination (for the role of Jean de Brienne in the Raymonda ballet by A. Glazunov) at the Krasnoyarsk Regional Festival Theater Spring - 2019.
The awarding ceremony took place at the congress hall of the Siberian Federal University. City authorities handed out diplomas, memorial signs and cash prizes to 49 young nominees including George. Since 1993, young Krasnoyarsk citizens aged between 14 and 30 years, has been awarded for achievements in culture, arts, sports, as well as in scientific, educational, social and professional activities.
1,100 most active representatives of the younger generation of Krasnoyarsk has been granted the award since that time. Among them are: the actor of the Pushkin Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater Dmitry Koriavin, the choreographer Valery Terioshkin, the participant of the Voice. Children show Alexander Lazin, the hockey player Sergei Lomanov, the Olympic biathlon champion Olga Medvedtseva, the world sport climbing champion Tatiana Ruyga, the awardee of the world skeleton championship Nikita Tregubov.
