Guest opera stars to perform in Krasnoyarsk in February

The Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre is going to present invited stars’ performances in February 2020 - artists of the best Russian opera and ballet theatres.

On February 5, the soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky Stage in Vladivostok, the winner of international competitions, tenor Eugeny Mizin will sing the role of Alfred in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata.

People's Artist of Russia, the soloist of the Bolshoi, mezzo-soprano Irina Dolzhenko will take the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House in Giuseppe Verdi's opera Aida as Amneris (February 14). The part of the High Priest Ramfis will be performed in Aida by a guest from the Helikon Opera Theatre in Moscow, laureate of international competitions, bass Stanislav Shvets.

On February 14 and 16, Krasnoyarsk musical theatre amateurs will see the premiere performance within the Art at the Quadrat project. A Night at the Museum or the Testament of the Master is the work of contemporary composer Pyotr Pospelov. It’s a chamber opera for four singers and pianoforte based on Mozart’s sonatas. The soloist of the Novaya Opera Theatre, laureate of international competitions, tenor Yaroslav Abaimov is going to perform the role of the museum’s director.

For Irina Dolzhenko, Amneris is one of her favourite parts that she has already performed on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre; Eugeny Mizin has also appeared on the Krasnoyarsk stage as Alfred. Stanislav Shvets and Yaroslav Abaimov will present their art to Krasnoyarsk residents for the first time.
