In Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades, the soloist of the Pushkin Nizhny Novgorod Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Alina Otyakovskaya will take the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. The guest will perform the leading female part of Lisa. The performance is dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
Alina was born in Orenburg. She studied academic singing at the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University; she also received a pedagogical education. She began her vocal career as a soloist at the Young Opera Singers Academy of the Mariinsky Theatre. She collaborated with the Opera in Pictures project of the Hermitage Theatre, performed at the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre, sang at the Moscow International House of Music.
As a soloist, she took part in tours to 63 cities and towns of England and Scotland along with the ensemble Resurrection conducted by of Yu. Maruk, in the cities of Russia along with the Premier Orchestra, in 30 cities of France and Germany along with the orchestra Silver Strings conducted by A. Afanasyev.
In 2022, Alina Otyakovskaya joined the opera company of the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre. Her repertoire includes such roles as Kuma (The Enchantress), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Lisa (Poor Lisa by Leonid Desyatnikov), Kupava (The Snow Maiden by Rimsky-Korsakov), Natasha (The Mermaid by Dargomyzhsky), Desdemona (Othello by Verdi), Nedda (Pagliacci by Leoncavallo), Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart), Mimi (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot), and Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) in the operas by Puccini.
On the stage of her theatre, Alina Otyakovskaya has many a times performed the role of Lisa in Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades. Now, Krasnoyarsk residents will become familiar with her interpretation of this character.
