Krasnoyarsk artists visited Italy

The opera soloist Alexander Mikhalev and artistic director of opera festivals and guest opera projects of our theatre, People's Artist of Russia Irina Dolzhenko performed in Florence (Italy). They took part in a chamber concert of opera music dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

Alessandro Camilli (tenor, Italy) and Roman Lyulkin (bass, Russia) appeared along with our artists on the stage of Auditorium Folco Portinari. Accompanied with pianist Alexei Nikonov, the artists performed romances and arias from such operas as “Eugene Onegin”, “Il Trovatore”, “Traviata”, “Don Carlos”, and others. A while back, Dmitri Hvorostovsky starred in all of these stagings.

“The audience accepted us very well, the applause did not stop for a long time, and we were taking the curtain calls for several times - it was very pleasant”, says Alexander Mikhalev, - “For me, as for the singer, it was an educational trip. Italy is the birthplace of the opera, and most of the arias are performed in Italian, there was an opportunity to listen to the original language there. And this certainly is an opportunity to get acquainted with other vocal schools, namely the Florentine one, which is considered to be one of the best in the world”.
