Lecture by opera critic Konstantin Cherkasov to precede the Parade of Tenors

The concert Parade of Tenors will take place on 31 January, and will mark the opening of the 15th International Festival Stars Parade at the Opera. Slovtsov. Thirty minutes before the performance, at 5:30 pm, a lecture titled A Point of Reference: Pyotr Slovtsov will take place in the second-floor foyer.
 
The audience will be joined by Moscow-based expert Konstantin Cherkasov who will speak about the founder of Krasnoyarsk opera, the outstanding singer Pyotr Slovtsov, and will answer questions from guests.
 
Konstantin Cherkasov is a theatre historian and opera critic, a former deputy head of the Bolshoi Theatre’s Literary and Publishing Department, and a guest opera columnist for Kommersant. His work has appeared in leading professional theatre publications including Issues of Theatre, Theatre Journal, and the theatre almanac Mnemosyne. Cherkasov is also the author of the texts for the theatre’s booklet accompanying its production of Verdi’s Rigoletto. The publication will be available for purchase before the concert and during the act wait.
 
At 5:55 pm, participants in the lecture will proceed to the auditorium for the Parade of Tenors concert, which will feature artists of the theatre alongside invited soloists: South Korean tenor singer Son Ji-Hoon, Ivan Gyngazov (Helikon-Opera), and Kirill Matveev (Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre).
