A conductor of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Mikhail Leontiev will participate in a grand concert that will take place in Surgut on October 1, International Music Day.
The concert will open the 11th International Arts Festival 60th Parallel and the new philharmonic season. The performing ensemble will comprise the Surgut Philharmonic Orchestra and invited musicians from cities that share the same northern latitude: Yakutsk, Syktyvkar, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Ugra. Mikhail Leontiev, Artistic Director of the Surgut orchestra, will take the conductor’s stand of the Festival’s orchestra.
The concert programme includes works by the milestone anniversary celebrants of 2024: Russian composers Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Mikhail Glinka. Guest vocalists will also perform in Surgut on October 1 - among them is tenor singer Boris Stepanov. This talented soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre is also going to appear on stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre as Gerald in Leo Delibes' opera Lakmé on November 4.
And Mikhail Leontiev will perform in Krasnoyarsk on October 28 and 29: the maestro is going to present his music concept for Giuseppe Verdi’s opera La Traviata.
