Before the official opening of its 48th season, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will present a special performance of Alexander Tchaikovsky’s opera To Love in Wartime on August 23.
This exclusive show marks an important step in the company’s preparations for its upcoming tour to St. Petersburg, where the production will be performed in September on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. The large-scale world premiere of To Love in Wartime—based on the works of Viktor Astafyev (The Shepherd and the Shepherdess, Starfall, and Forgive Me)—took place on May 1 and 2. It was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 101st anniversary of the birth of the renowned Russian writer Viktor Astafyev .
The 48th season will officially open on September 11 with last season’s highly acclaimed premiere of Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. Ballet fans can look forward to the Ballet Gala concerts on September 13 and 14.
Tickets for all season-opening events are already on sale and can be purchased at the theatre box office (open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM), on the official website Krasopera.ru, and through regional ticketing platforms.
