The results of the first round of the IV International competition of young opera singers named after Pyotr Slovtsov are summed up. This stage was held at Moscow and was qualifying - the jury evaluated the vocalists on video recordings sent to the contest.
At the second round, there were 50 singers from Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Turkey, Mongolia, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Among them there are 12 Krasnoyarsk residents, including eight soloists of our theatre: Olga Basova, Olga Monastyrshina, Anna Kharitonova, Kira Tikhonova, Daria Frolova, Ksenia Khovanova, Alexander Murashov and Evgeny Sevastyanov.
The second and third stages will be held from May 16 to 23 at the Krasnoyarsk opera and ballet theatre. At the second round, the participants will perform accompanied by the piano, at the third - they will perform fragments of opera scenes with artists of the Krasnoyarsk opera and ballet theatre accompanied by the theatre orchestra. Scenes contestants will stage the directors - participants of the creative laboratory "NANO-Opera" of the Moscow musical theatre "Helikon-Opera", which will be held in the framework of the competition named after Slovtsov.
The contestants will be evaluated by well-known Russian and foreign artists, opera directors and managers of European opera houses, including Fiorenza Kosotto and Vittorio Terranova (Italy), Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, Makvala Kasrashvili, Irina Dolzhenko, Marina Mescheryakova, Georgy Isaakyan (Russia), Andrejs Zagars ), Unyushan Kuloglu (Turkey), Neeme Kuningas (Estonia) and many others.
The competition will conclude with grand gala concert of laureates and soloists of the theatre.
