A grand gala concert, featuring a dazzling line-up of musical masterpieces, will close the festival Stars Parade. Slovtsov on April 9 and 10. Taking the stage at the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will be renowned soloists Tserenchunt Ulziyburen, Venera Gimadieva, Oleg Tsybulko, Yekaterina Begunovich, and Mikhail Vekua.
Mongolian tenor Tserenchunt Ulziyburen graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory and has performed with the Buryat Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Currently a principal soloist at the Ulaanbaatar Opera and Ballet Theatre, he frequently appears on Russian stages including the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he has performed Lensky in Eugene Onegin and taken part in concerts such as The Voice of Asia and The Tenors Parade. For the gala, he will perform Alfredo’s aria from Verdi’s La Traviata and the quartet from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin along with the Krasnoyarsk soloists Aliona Zafran, Daria Ryabinko, and Denis Grechishkin.
Soprano Venera Gimadieva will make her Krasnoyarsk debut. She had been a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre for a decade. Now, she sings at the Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre and has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including London, Paris, and Berlin. A Golden Mask award winner, Venera will perform Marguerite’s aria from Faust by Gounod, Adina’s aria from L’Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti, and the Butterfly-Pinkerton duet from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, alongside Valentin Kolesnikov.
Moldavian bass singer Oleg Tsybulko made his Bolshoi Theatre debut in 2011 as Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart. His portrayal of Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin has been featured not only at the Bolshoi but also at the Angers-Nantes Opera, Canadian Opera Company, National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Moldova, Grand Theatre of Warsaw, Nice Opera, and Deutsche Oper Berlin. In Krasnoyarsk, he will perform Procida’s aria from I Vespri Siciliani by Verdi and take part in the quartet from Eugene Onegin.
Tenor Mikhail Vekua, originally from Abkhazia, is a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory and has performed with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. He has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre since 2012; his repertoire includes iconic roles such as Herman in The Queen of Spades, Don Alvaro in La Forza del Destino, and Radamès in Aida. His international performances include appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and leading theatres across Italy, Germany, Norway, and other countries. For the gala, he will deliver powerful performances of Canio’s ‘Vesti la giubba’ from Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, José’s ‘Flower Song’ and the Carmen-José duet with Daria Ryabinko from Carmen by Bizet.
Joining these seasoned performers is rising opera talent Yekaterina Begunovich, a laureate of international competitions. A graduate of the Hvorostovsky Siberian Institute of Arts, she is now a soloist at the NOVAT (Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre). She’ll showcase her vocal virtuosity in Lucia’s aria from Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti and Olympia’s famous ‘Doll Song’ from Les Contes d'Hoffmann by Offenbach. The festival Stars Parade. Slovtsov promises a thrilling finale, bringing together world-class artists for a celebration of opera at its finest.
