The children's educational project Music Box to be resumed

In February, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites spectators to a new event of the immersive educational cycle Music Box.

Music Box #1 dedicated to the Children's Album by Pyotr Tchaikovsky had a great success: pieces from the Children's Album were performed by a string quartet, the host Yulia Kulakova told interesting stories, and the young audience sang, danced, marched, and even helped the musicians play their instruments.

Music Box #2 will be no less riveting: The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre invites children and adults to a musical fairy tale - funny and educational. The concert guests will find themselves in a beautiful fairyland where sounds of music live. They all used to get along with each other, but the evil sorcerer Dissonance came to the country, and the notes forgot how to fall into place. To make the music sound beautifully again, they’ll need the help of the good wizard Consonance. Only he can restore music order. A lot of interesting information, fun games, and good music will be presented to the spectators.

The string quartet includes soloists of the orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Timur Kolodyazhny (cello) who is also the music director of the project, Dmitri Kosolapov (violin), Tatiana Lavrentyeva (violin), Polina Sokur (viola). The event will be emceed by Yulia Kulakova.

The educational and entertaining concert series Music Box started in March 2024. It’s designed to introduce the very basics of music culture to children and adults. The project is designed for children between 4 and 8 years old, but the older kids and adults won’t get bored: it’ll be the funny immersive (implying the active participation and involvement of the audience) event.
