The Countess from the Bolshoi Theatre

On October 27, Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "The Queen of Spades” will be performed at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre by the famous opera singer, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, People's Artist of Russia Irina Dolzhenko. The artist will sing the role of the Countess.

Irina Dolzhenko possesses a multifaceted and velvet mezzo-soprano. Her manner of performing is first extremely open, emotional and sensual, then quiet and secretly sad - as the music critics say about her.

Irina Dolzhenko is always a welcome guest at the best music venues in the world: Wiener Kammeroper, the Royal Swedish Opera (Stockholm), the German Opera (Berlin), the Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), the New Israel Opera in Tel Aviv, the Cagliari Opera House, the Opera de Bordeaux, the Opera Bastille and others. She was accompanied by outstanding conductors - Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Yurovsky.

Irina Dolzhenko has been known to the Krasnoyarsk audience for a long time. She annually takes part in the International Festival "Stars Parade in the Opera". She performed solo concerts on our theatre’s stage, and as a guest soloist, performed leading parts in operas of our theatre’s repertoire.

The partner of the singer in the show tonight will be her colleague at the Bolshoi Theatre - Honoured Artist of Russia Roman Muravitsky. He’s going to sing the role of Herman.
