On October 8, the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival opens in Krasnoyarsk: it’s the largest music event in the Krasnoyarsk Region and will last until October 23.
In 2022, the grand opening of the Festival will take place a week earlier than the singer's birthday on October 16. The world-renowned bass singer and Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s friend Ildar Abdrazakov will come to the stage of the Grand Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic in the opening night. Soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Anna Avakyan and Sevastian Martyniuk will perform along with him. This concert will open the Festival cycle called The Best Voices of the World. On October 15, Sevastian will also perform in the concert cycle Masterpieces of the Chamber Repertoire of Dmitri Hvorostovsky along with mezzo-soprano singer Yulia Gertseva at the Organ Hall.
Two of ten festival concerts will be performed on the stage of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre. On October 18, soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Anna Avakyan (soprano), Violetta Grishko (soprano), Daria Ryabinko (mezzo-soprano), Denis Grechishkin (baritone), and Sergei Samusev (bass) will perform at a concert dedicated to the outstanding Russian singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky. On October 20, the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival will present a gala concert of opera soloists from Moscow and large regional theatres of Russia (including Krasnoyarsk artists Anna Avakyan and Daria Ryabinko).
Such superstars of world music as maestro Valery Gergiev (October 22) and the prima donna of the Bolshoi Theatre Dinara Aliyeva (October 23) will also take part in the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival.
The Festival programme and its influence on the development of the music culture of the Region was discussed today, on October 7, at a large press conference held in the format of a teleconference between the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre and the TASS Press Centre in Moscow. It was attended by: in Krasnoyarsk - Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Arkady Zinov, Artistic Director of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival Anton Levakhin, Honoured Artist of Russia Ildar Abdrazakov, Managing Director of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Art Development Foundation Natalia Agakhanova, Director General of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Society Eugeny Stodushny, and Managing Director of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Svetlana Guziy; in Moscow - Artistic Director of the Helikon-Opera Dmitri Bertman, head of the youth opera programme of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Dmitri Vdovin.
“Thanks to the Festival in Krasnoyarsk, eminent musicians, vocalists, and conductors perform at our theatre. And what is especially important, our soloists take the stage along with them. It raises the level of Krasnoyarsk vocalists. Besides, our theatre is highly appreciated not only in Russia, but also abroad. So the significance of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival is certainly immense,” Svetlana Guziy emphasized at a press conference.
