The 43rd season of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre ends in June; so, the theatre is going to offer the last debut performances of the season to its audience.
June 2021 will be especially tense for the tenor soloist of the opera company Valentin Kolesnikov. On June 27, he will perform Nemorino in Gaetano Donizetti's opera L'Elisir d'Amore for the first time.
Moreover, Valentin is to perform in Erfurt (Germany) in the finals of the prestigious Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition later in June. At the end of May, Valentin Kolesnikov won the Russian qualifying round of the competition that took place in Irkutsk as part of the international opera music festival Breath of Baikal. Valentin presented the arias of Romeo from Romeo and Juliet by Charles Gounod and Rodolfo from La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini to the competition jury. The soloist will likely perform the same works in the finals, but the performance programme has not yet been approved.
The partner of Valentin Kolesnikov in the opera L'Elisir d'Amore will be the soloist Alexandra Cherpakova. For her, the performance of the leading female part - Adina, Nemorino's beloved - will also be her debut in the opera.
In Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake that’ll be performed on June 3, Alexandra Yermicheva will make her debut in an extremely popular piece - the dance of the four little swans. On June 9, Tatiana Nikitina will perform the Wilis pas de deux in Adolphe Adam's ballet Giselle for the first time.
