The Krasnoyarsk Choreography College graduates to participate in the federal project The Big and Small

On September 1, the federal TV channel Russia-Culture launched the dance project The Big and Small.  Students and recent graduates of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College will take part in it. The College is a permanent “supplier” of talented dancers for the ballet company of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Alina Zyabkina, Olga Peshkova, Lilia Petrakovskaya, and Sofia Rybina (the class of Natalia Kargapoltseva) have danced in the new season of this popular dance show. They performed in the Classical Dance nominated category. They presented an excerpt from the ballet The Little Humpbacked Horse composed by Caesar Pugni to the experts. It should be noted that these young ballerinas have already joined the ballet company of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera House. Olga Peshkova even took part in crowd scenes of the Pugni's ballet Catarina ou la Fille du Bandit, which was presented on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia as part of the Hvorostovsky Theatre's tour in Moscow.

Students of the Folk Dance Department of the College also took part in The Big and Small project (the class of Anastasia Akhmerova and Andrey Kirillov): they presented two folk dance pieces - Festive and On the Bench.

High-class professionals supported young artists and gave them valuable advice. Among them, there is a project curator Sofia Gaidukova, choreographer, winner of Russian and international competitions. Sofia and a choreographer Konstantin Matulevsky came to Krasnoyarsk to stage the show Seasons along with students of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College. The premiere of this spectacular children's ballet to the music by Alexander Glazunov took place on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre on May 5 as part of the reporting concerts of the Krasnoyarsk Choreography College.

In 2022, The Big and Small project will present 10 programmes to dance art fans; 102 teams from various cities of Russia will take part in them.

“We are waiting for fireworks of impressions! Jazz, tap, acrobatic rock and roll, boogie-woogie, ballroom dancing... Of course, the jury members will have a hard time: how to choose the best from such gifted and different performers? This makes all the more interesting.” said Sofia Gaidukova.
