The Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre celebrates the taking of the name of Dmitri Hvorostovsky

On February 1, artists and staff of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will visit the exhibition The Voice that Conquered the World at the Grigory Yudin Estate Museum. The visit is dedicated to a historically significant date: since February 1, 2018, the Theatre proudly bears the name of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The future star of the world opera art, People's Artist of Russia Dmitri Hvorostovsky started his artistic journey on the Krasnoyarsk stage.

The exhibition opened on October 13, 2023. There are items donated by the Hvorostovsky family there: children's clothes and rare photographs from the family archives. A voice belonging to the Universe: this is the general theme of the design of the exhibition, so a special place in the exhibition halls is held by a plaque - an official certificate of naming a small planet #HVOROSTOVSKY. The exhibition also includes the legendary prize of the music competition in Cardiff (the capital of Wales), the victory that opened the way for the singer to the leading opera stages of the world, concert costumes of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, his personal belongings, programme leaflets of the most remarkable shows, and much more.

After seeing the exhibition, the artists will gather at a round table in the Tea House of the museum for a tea party: they’ll watch a video message from the singer’s parents, listen to the best recordings of his unique baritone, and remember the performances on the same stage along with him ... And they will try to understand what is his phenomenon and uniqueness.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s colleague, People’s Artist of Russia Larisa Marzoeva will also take part in the meeting, as well as Honoured Artist of Russia Oleg Alekseev, Honoured Figure of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region Anna Kiseliova, laureates of international and Russian competitions Vladimir Alexandrovich, Davit Esayan, Sevastian Martyniuk, Alexey Sokolov.
