And again soloists of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre named after D.A.Hvorostovsky prove that they are one of the best! Our opera soloist Sevastian Martyiniuk took the third place at the prestigious international competition of opera singers "Ferruccio Tagliavini". The competition was held in the Austrian town of Deutschlandberg on April 11-18.
The chairman of the jury was the well-known opera singer Fiorenza Cossotto (Italy). The jury also included conductor Richard Bonynge (Australia), head of the Piacenza Theatre Cristina Ferrari (Italy), director general of the Royal Opera House Muscat Umberto Fanni (Oman), teacher of opera singing in Italian Anatoly Gusev (Italy), and others.
Sevastian Martyiniuk is a student of the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts where he studies opera singing (the class of People's Artist of Russia Larisa Marzoyeva). The young performer possesses a unique timbre - a soft lyric baritone voice.
In 2017, he was accepted into the staff of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. He keeps on taking part in theatres shows, he performed solo at the première of the opera “Eugene Onegin” in the IX International Festival “Stars Parade in the Opera”.
At such a young age already Sevastian is a laureate of many contests: the II and I Prizes of the Russian Competition “Romanciada” (2014, 2015), the II Prize of the International Vocalists' Competition “ACADEMIA” (2016), the first prize of the IV Pyotr Slovtsov’s International Competition of Young Opera Singers (2017). Also, he has a valuable performing experience: being 20 years old, the singer had the opportunity to perform along with the great baritone known worldwide - Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
