The October festival Orchestra Formula is dedicated to the Baroque era

The new themed concert of the series Orchestra Formula is called Pearls of the Baroque. Soloists and chamber orchestra of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform in the second floor foyer on October 14.

The concert programme comprises works by European composers of the 17th and 18th centuries including the luminaries of the Baroque era (who, by the way, were born in the same year - 1685) Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, as well as Antonio Vivaldi. Of course, we can’t do without the Vivaldi’s cycle Four Seasons: in October, of course, it’ll be the Autumn concert (soloist is Yulia Sabitova, violin). Another famous work by Vivaldi - La Follia - will be performed. This arrangement of the Spanish dance melody in Trio Sonata No. 12 was created for two violins and orchestra, but in Krasnoyarsk, it will be performed by a quartet of Olga Spiridonova, Dmitri Kosolapov (violins), Timur Kolodyazhny (cello), Kirill Rusinov (guitar).

Concertmaster of the orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Dmitri Kosolapov is also the author and music director of the concert programme. He chose two works by Bach: the public’s favourite Concerto in D minor for two violins (soloists are Olga Spiridonova and Dmitri Kosolapov) and the beautiful Siciliana from the Sonata in C minor for violin and clavier but arranged for violin and harp (soloists are Yulia Sabitova and Kira Lagozinskaya, harp). Kira will also perform solo in Handel's Harp Concerto.

A contemporary of those three great composers Georg Philipp Telemann is now not as famous as they are, but his Concerto for two flutes (soloists are Pavel Studennikov, Natalia Zimaltynova) will also deservingly be included in the concert programme as a music pearl.

Natalia Bychkova and Alisa Harmats (violins), Polina Sokur, Tatiana Melnikova, Evnika Myasnikova (violas), Andrey Kholomkin (bassoon), Svetlana Mikhaliova (harpsichord) will also perform works by Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Telemann, Marais, Sammartini.
Spectators of the concerts in the foyer of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre know already these musicians well; and this is one of the purposes of the educational cycle Orchestra Formula.
