Valentin Kolesnikov has performed at the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre

The principal singer of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre Valentin Kolesnikov performed the part of Vladimir Igorevich in the Alexander Borodin’s opera Prince Igor in Ulan-Ude on March 23.

Valentin accepted the personal invitation of Vladimir Rylov, People's Artist of the Republic of Buryatia, Artistic Director of the G. Ts. Tsydynzhapov Buryatia State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

“Maestro Rylov is a musician of the highest level. Before I got acquainted with him, I had heard many soloists of our theatre speak highly of him after his production of César Cui's opera Prisoner of the Caucasus; and now I myself am convinced that he is a professional with a big P. His interpretation of Prince Igor is amazing. It was a pleasure to work on it. The show was excellent; great singers took part in it, including those from the Perm and Saratov theatres. On April 20, I return to Ulan-Ude to perform at a concert related to the new album of Olga Zhigmitova, People's Artist of Buryatia. I am also invited to participate in the People's Artist of the USSR Kim Bazarsadaev International Competition for Young Opera Singers on April 21 and 22. I am sure that from now on, we will have good partnership relations with this outstanding theatre”, Valentin said.

It’s worth mentioning that Valentin Kolesnikov made his debut in this role in the first performance of the 44th season of the Krasnoyarsk Opera House.
