Valentin Kolesnikov to perform at the Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky Stage

Valentin Kolesnikov, tenor soloist with the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, will appear as a guest artist at the Mariinsky Theatre Primorsky Stage. On February 27, he will perform the role of Ivan Lykov in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride.

This won't be Kolesnikov’s first appearance in Vladivostok. He previously took part in the Krasnoyarsk theatre’s tour at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in June 2025, where he performed the roles of Gérald in Léo Delibes’s Lakmé and Count Almaviva in Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He has also performed the role of Lykov many a time on the Krasnoyarsk stage.

Audiences in Krasnoyarsk will hear the tenor singer at his home theatre on March 18 in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Count Almaviva) and on March 21 in the opera To Love in Wartime by Alexander Tchaikovsky, based on wartime works by Viktor Astafyev - Valentin will perform the role of the soldier Afonya.
