Voice of the Universe: a cosmic concert for Cosmonautics Day
On April 12, the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater will host Voice of the Universe — an intimate concert celebrating Cosmonautics Day in the atmospheric setting of the second-floor lobby. Tickets are now available.
The programme features beloved space-themed classics performed by the theater's soloists: generations of Russian audiences will recognize Fourteen Minutes to Launch and The Gagarin Constellation by Alexandra Pakhmutova and Nikolai Dobronravov; Apple Trees Will Bloom on Mars and I Am Earth by Vano Muradeli and Eugeny Dolmatovsky; the dreamy Starry Waltz by Andrey Babayev and Vladimir Kharitonov; and the tender I Dreamed of the Sound of Rain by Eugeny Doga and Vladimir Lazarev—plus many more iconic songs from the Soviet era. The evening will culminate with the show-stopping Diva Dance from The Fifth Element—a contemporary music anthem to the cosmos.
"Voice of the Universe is a chamber vocal concert dedicated to humanity's enduring dream of space," shares director Daniil Dmitriev. "The programme weaves together music from different eras—from the heroic optimism of 1960s space exploration to the philosophical sci-fi of the 1980s. Through songs about Gagarin, Earth, distant planets, and the future, we explore one central image: a solitary human being, gazing into the infinite."
It's a nostalgic yet timeless journey through sound—perfect for space dreamers, music fans, and anyone who's ever looked up at the stars and wondered.
