PINOCCHIO'S NEW ADVENTURES

The surprising fairy tale of Alexey Nikolaevich Tolstoy who glanced in theatre "world behind the looking-glass" causes trembling in soul of many those who loves Theatre, serves it, comes to auditoriums, devotes it all the life.

Probably, for this reason there are a lot of versions, readings, interpretations of this well-known story for this reason life of the fairy tale about Buratino will be eternal as the dream of the person of happiness and of art which will help to turn the dream into reality at least for two hours of theatre time.

In this performance all dream of happiness – and Karabas-Barabas to whom the theatre is necessary as the breath of life – there and only there he can feel like Barabas.

And Father Carlo who does Theatre by the hands – planes theatre furniture, invents mechanisms, thinks out and spiritualizes dolls which will step then on the stage to the audience.

And Turtle Tortill who wasn't enough also three hundred years to reach this happiness.

And Buratino who revived (turned from a wooden doll into the person) only to fill, what it is such happiness  – the Play? Role? Theatre? Tour?..

And dolls which dream of the magic theatre without Barabas to play only favourite roles and to sing only beautiful songs. This is the happiness!

The wise Father Carlo is right, probably, speaking: "Happiness with you! Look back! It is  that Karabas looks for, you have very long time ago! Roles, scene, viewer, friendship… You also don't need magic buffoonery where everything is perfectly trusted and without your participation. What happiness in it?!". Really, as often in  pursuit of the illusive purpose, we, at last open the treasured door … for which there is other door, and behind it one more, then it is necessary to open following … and so indefinitely, as if at us in a stock as at Tortilla, 300 years! In violent searches of the key and door we don't manage to look back round ourselves and to understand that life is so fine, but it is so short … "We are happy!  Sometime we can't lift the head for fatigue. But day passes – we are on way again. We are happy! And whether you are happy?", – magic Lamplighters ask us.

First action

The ruined theatre manager Karabas dreams to rectify situation in the theatre by means of a new doll which he thought up and ordered to the doll master Carlo.

But the old master who put all ability and heart and soul in this doll not in forces to leave it. Having overheard dreams of father Carlo, Karabas in anger rushes into his closet and demands to give Buratino.

After long quarrel Karabas leaves. Carlo decides to resume the work, but doesn't find the doll. In despair he rushes after Karabas. At this time Buratino gets out of a joiner's box and, without having found anybody in the closet, decides to understand himself that such – a theatre, a role, tour.

At Karabas's theatre there is the next representation in which sadly and monotonously the intimidated dolls act. One awkward movement of Buratino, and all dolls were tumbled down, as if porcelain figurines. He sees the finest creation of Carlo — Malvina. But acquaintance is stopped right there by Karabas-Barabas and demands to bring Buratino to him in an office to interrogation. All dolls in horror, they equip Buratino, as if on war.

During interrogation it becomes clear what exactly is in the closet of  father Carlo that magic door which is looked for by Karabas. He changes tactics: decides to deceive poor Buratino and employs the subordinates Basilio and Alice who play roles of a cat and a fox in Karabas's troupe. They impudently lie that exactly he the public waits for that exactly he is that foreign star for whom the scene and Karabas's theatre so looks forward.

Absolutely become stupid from the news which fell down, Buratino in everything trusts cunning deceivers and runs together with Basilio and Alice on the magic field of wonders where, having earthed the money presented by Karabas, it is possible to collect the whole capital by the morning. But instead of a magic field he is thrown out in a bog.

Second action

Poor Buratino whiles away time on a bog where he meets the seller of bloodsuckers Duremar. Young frogs sympathize with Buratino and call Tortilla. She also presented the magic key because of which  there were so many adventures and troubles.

Duremar overheard about a gift and right there transferred all information to Karabas. All came running on a bog and attacked on the poor boy. Alice and Basilio think as to take away the key from the middle of the pond. At last Buratino was seized, connected and were already ready to torture, but dolls found father Carlo and brought to the aid. The boy is rescued, Karabas, after all dreaming of  revenge, escapes.

After so many adventures all friends, father Carlo, Buratino move off in searches of the magic door which the key presented by Tortilla has to open.

On the magic scene happy dolls give the concert. Gentle song of Malvina, Piero's dream, reckless song of Buratino and, of course, father Carlo. All are happy and want to make favourite theatre the finely, sublime and the kindest very much. A place where all dreams come true!
